LOVE WON

Once I had walls
Made of strong metals
Built around my heart
Not even a cat
Could jump across them!

They were a deterrent
To a very strong current
Love, they have called
Towards it ,my heart was very cold

But since we met
With your affection; like a magnet,
You’ve pulled the walls down
And combined my heart with your own!

Now am vulnerable
The once great Sakwa is lovable!!
Hard I have fallen,
In love but not broken

I tried hard to ignore my feelings
But with multiple failings,
I conceded; Love won
So my love, let’s be one!

No more living running
I embrace my vulnerability
Let’s keep our love burning
Because it’s our main responsibility

Now the author of lone lines
Understands love lines
Because loneliness lost
And love won!

FOUR LINE POETRY CHALLENGE

SirKwa:

I come with lone lines
To tell you loners
“You got no lines”
“You are just attention seekers”

Odus:

Someone please call for forensic
look for the remains of an amateur
he came to a fierce war calling us lone
himself he was not accompanied

Sirkwa:

Your lines, none can hum
But mine come with rhythm
Yet you claim to know poetry
Go practise poultry

Odus:

huh, you talk of rhythm
here you came with critism
but i promise to clear your optimism
with zeal and enthusiasm

Sirkwa:

Son, go learn
Poetry is an art
Prowess you must earn
Or else it’s you I will thwart

Odus:

you have turned diss into advice
abomination calling a grandmaster son
wait, am i talking to a ghost?
where’s the forensic? he survived?

Sirkwa:

Your lines don’t frighten
But mine, it’s you they enlighten
Reminding you often
You must be COMPETEN’

Odus:

you’re pleased to have rhyme schemes
like form ones their 1st poems
your enlightenment is darkness
even with spectacles i don’t get your competence

Sirkwa:

After my each blow,
Off you go.
As I ,in my victory I wallow
Just accept, poetry zone is a no go

Odus:

victory, you proclaim
a white flage, you raise
sweaty fingers, you type
ovethinking, you stress

Sirkwa:

Surrender is my advice
Take it if you are wise
Or soon is your demise
And I’ll be there to rejoice

Odus:

look you ask me to surrender
when you see I’m to put you asunder
and leave your mind a quagmire
keep my respect as Master

Sirkwa:

Stubbornly you insist
Throwing allegations that don’t exist
Can’t you see it’s a lost cause
Sure, your surrender I’ll cause

Odus:

he escapes to prayer
to ask poetic lines from Allah
and forgiveness for misbehavior
he has messed with the master

Now ladies and gentlemen, who won?

NINGAKUWA…

Ningakuwa na sauti,kuliko wenye nchi

Ngelalama kwa wakati,miye kama mwananchi

Ngesimama katikati ,ya wenye na wananchi

Ngewatetea raia,kwa vongozi wala damu

Ningakuwa na uwezo,kuliko wenye bunduki

Ngewambia ‘ngu mawazo,yanayonipa hamaki

Ngelalamikia bezo,kwa wasio na muluki

Ngewatetea raia,kwa vongozi wala damu

Ningakuwa mi ni Lodi,kuliko wanyanyasaji

Ngewalipieni kodi,wrote waso na mtaji

Ngewaundieni bodi,kutetea wapuzwaji

Ngewatetea raia,kwa vongozi wala damu

MALENGA WA MUMIAS (AL-SAKWA)

SOMETIMES THE STRONG HAVE TO DIE FOR THE WEAK TO SURVIVE.

Yes, in the struggle for existence, the strongest/fittest survive as the weak perish;that is a law of nature .But ,lets remember that laws have exceptions . Sometimes the strong have to die for the weak to survive .That is why in countries that have ever been colonized, the freedom fighters had to die for the ”weak” to gain independence.

In nature a mother will die protecting the young ones .Wait , that must be an exception existing in nature and indeed it is . So , nature also has exceptions to its own laws! Question ,are human beings part of nature?

Why do the strong continuously draw energy from the weak to make them weaker and for them to grow stronger? Monopolies will lower prices to force emerging firms out of the industry, old people in the workforce will use conservative policies to keep off the youth ,strong economies ‘partner’ with third wold countries to make them indebted to them ,established politicians use propaganda to rise to power defeating upcoming politicians . The list is as endless as the problems this is causing us.

As human beings we are failing .Unless the strong stop being cynical and become martyrs of humanity, the human race is at stake!
